Color of the Year!!

Did you hear Benjamin Moore announced their pick for ... Color of the Year
Drum roll please...

I've always been a fan of white.  My mom always taught me to start with white and add color with the seasons.  I am super excited to share that  'Simply white"  is the winner.

THE SCREENDOOR MAKEOVER

THE SCREENDOOR MAKEOVER

Here she is.  I knew I could make her into something beautiful.  Looks like she was really mistreated through the years.

Just look at all the staples.  I had lots of work to do.

First thing that had to be done was, all those staples and nails had to come out.

Then some sanding and wood filler

Decided to cut the door and make the top part a chalkboard and the bottom I cut for two mirrors.

I painted the smaller ones Dark Chocolate and will be adding these to my stair wall.

Next came chalk paint (3 layers) in between each layer that is dry, I lightly sand it with 600 grit sandpaper for a smooth surface.  Then never forget to condition the chalkboard with chalk.  This prevents you from seeing what you wrote on the chalkboard previously.

Here she is all done. She'd make a beautiful statement in any home.

HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE

I can't believe it is that time of year again!! And anyone who comes over to this web-site, I just want to apologize for never posting.  I really love Instagram. It is a place where I can post a quick picture of what I am doing and not have to blog. Honestly I just can never find the time. So If you want, follow me on Instagram
Here is a picture of a sign I painted on an old barn door. It did sell already but I wanted to let you see it.

Hope everyone enjoys all the days that lead up to this magical time of year!
